I am sitting in Cozumel Mexico, and the news diet is far different from that at home. My cynicism at the Obama administration heading up the imperial project increasingly crumbling is tempered by the fascistic frothings of what passes as FOX NEWS. On the other hand, news out of other parts of the world would indicate that the world has indeed changed. News that Harper has prorgued parliament has not made it to the world's radar screen although the pro-Harper British magazine "The Economist" has dissed the Canadian Prime Minister's contempt of democracy. The biggest news is that the Icelanders may be leading the way. They obtained the signatures of a quarter of their citizens on a petition NOT to go good for the default of their largest bank to the British and Dutch lenders. The President of Iceland has heard the people and refused to sign the new law guaranteeing the banks debts. Britain and the Netherlands are furious and threaten to block Iceland's entry into the E.U. Stay tuned to People's Power. Next stop, Bolivia April 20-22.
